atlan-search

Skill from atlanhq/agent-toolkit

Data & Databases No risky patterns found curated datasearchpipelineagentsmcp

Install

npx skills add atlanhq/agent-toolkit --skill atlan-search

Runs the open skills CLI and installs the skill for your agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor …). Alternatively copy the skill folder into .claude/skills/ or upload it in Claude.ai under Settings → Skills.

As a Claude Code plugin

/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-official /plugin install atlan@atlan-marketplace

This skill is part of the plugin “atlan”. In Claude Code the plugin installs it together with the plugin’s other skills, commands and hooks.

What does the atlan-search skill do?

How to find things in the Atlan data catalog with the Atlan MCP tools — which of semantic_search / search_assets / get_assets / traverse_lineage / resolve_metadata / get_users to reach for, and the filter rules that make each one return the right answer. Use for any discovery ask over catalog metadata — "what data do we have about X", "which table has Y", "find verified Snowflake tables owned by Z", "how many dashboards per domain", tags and custom metadata, glossary terms, domains and data products, data quality checks, lineage, BI and pipeline assets, and counts or breakdowns of any of these. Not for querying row-level data values (use query_assets) and not for skills / knowledge files / agents (use read_artifact).

Description from the SKILL.md in the source repository.

How do I install atlan-search?

In a terminal: npx skills add atlanhq/agent-toolkit --skill atlan-search. The skills CLI asks which agents to install it for. In Claude.ai you can upload the skill folder as a ZIP under Settings → Skills.

Which agents can use atlan-search?

Skills use the open SKILL.md format, which Claude Code, Claude.ai, the Claude API, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and other agents support.

Is atlan-search safe to use?

Our automatic check found no risky patterns (piped shell scripts, hidden characters, secret access, prompt overrides). It is not a full audit – read the SKILL.md and any scripts before installing.
